AT EASE LIEUTENANT!

At Aurora Fleet, you choose your character's rank. Some Trek squads force members to serve lengthy periods as crew or cadets, then choose from limited roles open on a single ship. Our goal is different. Aurora Fleet seeks to maximize the creative freedom of each of our members so that everyone can play the roles and ranks they wish. Ranks up to 'Fleet Captain' may be selected by any fleet member. Need a promotion? Give yourself one! For those willing to contribute regularly to fleet leadership, other flag ranks are available by appointment.

Aurora Fleet maintains Fleet Officer and Flag Officer Ranks. Fleet Officer ranks, ranging from crewman to Fleet Captain or Colonel, are available to regular members joining fleet. These are essentially 'role playing' ranks not tied to any particular fleet administrative duties. If you are new to the fleet, choose a rank in the the Fleet Officer range and role playing according to rank.

Flag Officer ranks (Admiral, General, Commodore) are reserved to recognize those officers who have volunteered for leadership service within the fleet. These ranks are explained on the Command page and are earned by appointment for those volunteering to maintain a function (running events, recruiting, etc.) for the fleet. After joining as a fleet officer, let the fleet know if you are interested in regularly supporting fleet functions

Different colored insignia apply to different departments. The fleet follows Star Trek convention for these colors. You can find rank insignia for most departments on the insignia page.

AURORA FLEET RECOGNITION TITLES

As a means of recognition, fleet designations of cadet through legendary officer are earned in the fleet's forums based on longevity with the fleet. The longer you stay with the fleet, the higher your designation. Adjutant and flag officer ranks are functional and reserved to identify those in leadership roles.
